We utilise our own developed and copyrighted Project Financial Management Methodology Pathfinder™.
Our core Pathfinder Methodology was built after working for 13 years within FTSE 100 companies, having a 100% success rate in working with those programmes to achieve on-target delivery of cost against budget.
This success was delivered by working with the project, developing personal techniques into a successful way of working, robust governance and control, focused reporting, direct communication and strong relationship building.
The methodology looks at the financial management, cost control and budgetary needs of business using a project management financial lifecycle - covering
-
Feasibility, Business Case, Design, Build, Test through to implementation and post completion reviews.
We have developed the original methodology to apply and assist all sizes of organisations, having recently developed;
-
Pathfinder for Small Projects
-
Pathfinder for Small Business
Each being a concentrated methodology to ensure that smaller entities receive the same high quality financial management expertise.
The PATHFINDER™ methodology assists in delivery of the project financial requirements of the Treasury Green book, and the Scottish Public Finance Manual. In turn it can also improve the successful delivery of the financial aspects of Prince 2 by providing a deeper concentration on the day to day financial requirements.
An example of this Prince2 fit is that 70% of Pathfinder is focused on improving the delivery and monitoring of the business case.
Alongside Prince2 the methodology and associated training programme will enhance the attendees understanding of what is needed to deliver successful OGC gateway reviews by ensuring that their management, reporting, governance and control is best practice.
Quality
Pathfinder acts also as our quality management system;
- It provides a structured framework to work against.
- It acts as a check list to ensure we have met our planned deliverables.
- It is a standard way of working used by all our staff.
- It acts as a reference guide.
- It is "best practice".
There is no other methodology within today’s market place which takes project financial management into a category on it’s own.
